Locating Utilities Prior To Performing Any Excavations - Phoenix, AZ

Locating Utilities - Pheonix AR.jpg

GPRS’s office in Phoenix, AZ. was hired by a local General Contracting company to locate utilities on a private facility prior to them performing any excavations. The biggest concern here was the big Electrical rack that is in the above picture. They would be digging around this rack to repair/ replace water lines and needed to avoid damaging any of the underground electrical in this area. This electrical was controlling a bunch of underground pumps and control wiring for different meters in the area. GPRS was successful on locating all of these electrical lines to give the contractor some comfort that they would not damage any of the existing electrical while excavating. We were able to transmit a signal along each one of the conduits so we could trace each one out and then verify the depths and accuracy with our GPR equipment. GPRS has multiple methods and tools to locate various underground utilities.

Along with marking all findings on the ground with either pin flags or paint, GPRS also offers a service of collecting all the findings with a GPS and putting it into a google earth overlay or CAD for future reference. We can typically have the google earth overlay to the customer in 3 to 4 business days.
