Locate Utilities Before Excavating Tower - MN

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems in Minnesota was contacted to determine the locations of private utilities at a cell tower site in Shakopee, MN. Troy Bartlett, Project Manager with GPRS, used electro- magnetic induction to locate electric and communication lines present within the surrounding area and ground penetrating radar to mark conduit locations and verify trenches of utilities marked by One-Call locators.

Damaging any one of the “High Profile” utilities located at this site has the potential to disrupt service to thousands of customers including emergency personnel and government agencies in the area. The contractor involved in excavating for new services within the compound trusts GPRS to protect their crew and reputation from costly damages.
