Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. can identify underground anomalies such as utilities, obstructions, and subsurface voids using non-destructive testing methods. Our project managers have the ability to identify an anomaly’s depth and location with accuracy of 15% to the depth and location of the anomaly itself. This is important to note because there are often times when a customer has to excavate to a specific depth in order to install conduits, plumbing, or foundations on remodels and new construction projects. The obvious benefit of having such a high degree of accuracy is that the customer will have an indication of when to hand dig as opposed to using heavy machinery.

GPRS offers a response time unrivaled in the industry. Often, our schedule allows for same day turnaround or at least within a few days at the most for standard projects. By delivering fast and accurate service, you can be sure your project remains on schedule and within budget. Our experienced technicians set the bar and offer professional services to meet the needs of the fast-paced construction industry.

This particular GPR scan took place downtown in Baton Rouge, LA. The customer needed to determine the location specifically of a sewer line within a proposed soil boring drilling location. In addition to the sewer line, our technician was able to locate a gas line, water line, and unknown line (possibly irrigation) within the immediate vicinity requested for scanning. The project manager used a combination of GPR and EM pipe locating in order to scan the areas. Each anomaly/utility located was marked with paint and flagging in accordance with the Uniform Coloring Code. Our standard markings consist of a combination of lines and directional arrows with approximate depths, where available, for all anomalies/utilities with matching color flags for continuity throughout.

Since 2001, GPRS, Inc. continues to lead the industry because of our highly trained and dedicated project managers (such as Jacob Cunningham shown here), state-of-the-art equipment, and a passion for excellence and ownership of every project from start to finish. Ground Penetrating Radar is cost-effective, non-hazardous, and provides data in real time.
