GPRS Locates a Leaking Gas Line CA

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of California was contacted by a home owner to locate the main gas line that enters his property. He had determined that the gas line was leaking and producing a distinctive smell. The homeowner attempted to locate the gas line by using the existing plans he was provided by the previous owner, which resulted in having several trenches in different locations around the property. He decided to leave it to the Experts in GPR and contacted Freddy Espinal with GPRS. “We were able to locate the main gas line that comes from the street and found where it 45’s into the property in less than an hour” stated Espinal. The line actually runs underneath an additional guest house and found the line at 3’ in most areas. The trenches dug up by the homeowner were nowhere near the actual findings. Upon request we marked the finding using flags on the turf in order to avoid painting it.

GPRS takes the guess work out of locating utilities or anything that cannot be seen beneath the surface. GPR is a great tool to scan concrete as well to detect post tension cables, rebar, conduits, even PVC pipes. GPRS is the largest service provider in North America with offices in every major city and in Canada.
