Core Drill for New Conduit CA

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Southern California was contacted by an electrical company to locate rebar in a wall prior to core drilling for (1) 2” conduit. The area on the wall was limited due to the metal studs that were in place; we referred to using our Palm antenna rather than our 1600MHz antenna since it is suited for tightly spaced areas. We found that the wall was 14” thick and had 2 layers of rebar; we were able to easily map out a 1’x3’ area and provide the client with multiple coring options where they could drill without damaging the structural integrity of the wall.

GPR mapping is a great tool to scan areas of post tension cables, rebar, and conduits; it can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating. GPRS has offices throughout the entire state of California and performs GPR projects throughout the entire state, including cities like Ventura, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Lancaster and the greater Los Angeles area.
