Concrete Scanning in Santa Barbara, CA

Ground Penetrating Radar Systems, Inc. - GPRS - of Southern California was contacted HVAC Company in order to mark out the rebar in a ceiling prior to coring a 8” hole for a new A/C unit. We found that the slab was 6” thick and the rebar was 12” on center; we had to scan the area from the bottom as the floor above us was occupied with office desk/portables. The client wanted to preserve as much rebar as possible due to the building being considered a historical landmark so we marked out a 5’x5’ area and provided the customer with several coring options.

GPR mapping is a great tool to scan for post tension cables, rebar, and conduits; it can also be used to locate underground utilities prior to digging or excavating. GPRS has offices throughout the entire state of California and performs projects in cities like; Ventura, Santa Barbara, Thousand Oaks, San Luis Obispo, Bakersfield, Lancaster and the greater Los Angeles area.
